Director Dipankar Dipon is new to the Dhaka film industry with only one film under his name. His debut film ‘Dhaka Attack’, released in 2017, was a huge commercial success.

Now he’s planning his comeback as a director with a new film. The announcement came on Thursday with the signing of the film’s contract. A contract was signed between Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Welfare Trust and Three Wheelers to jointly undertake the production of the film.

The name of the movie is yet to be announced. The film is to be set in the largest mangrove forest in the world, the Sundarbans. Back in the day, the area was controlled by pirates. Everyone, even the fisherman and the traditional honey collectors, known as the 'Mawali' were afraid to go into the forests.

However after countless raids conducted by RAB, the Sundarbans are now free of the ferocious pirates. Dipon’s new film will be centered on this theme. Dipon’s last film, ‘Dhaka Attack’ revolved around the expeditions carried out valiant police officers. The film was produced by Police Kallyan Trust.
