A seminar on ‘Diet Management: The Safety Way’ was held at Magura on Monday. Bangladesh Institute of Research and Training on Applied Nutrition (BIRTAN), Khulna Divisional Regional Center Jhenaidah organised the seminar.
Mohammad Zahidul Amin, Deputy Director of Magura presided over the meeting while Mohammad Ali, Additional Director of Agricultural Extension department, Jashore was present as chief guest and Fahmida Khatun, a nutritionist of Diet Home NGO, Nur Alam Siddiqui, Senior Scientific Officer of BIRTAN spoke among others.
In a seminar, Fahmida Khatun said, “The importance of balanced diet is immense for the people to have a normal life and growth. In most cases, physicians give a patient only a prescription. According to the patient's illness, he does not instruct him on what foods to take. However, in addition to choosing the right medicines, it is important to determine the right diet according to the physical and mental condition of the patients'.
Representatives from various levels, including agricultural officials, attended the seminar. At the seminar, various aged people, newborns, expectant mothers, diabetics and other patients interact with food and drink. In addition, the need for proper and proper meals is emphasized for the normal life.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Mohammad Ali said, "It is important to come forward to have dinner at the time of need for our well-being and normal life. In many countries, at night they get dinner between 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. But for various reasons, we are having a great deal of irregularities in eating. This irregularity is most common in the new generation, especially for Facebook and other reasons'.
