Staying healthy while dining out can be a stressful task. Portion sizes are often too large, and many dishes that sound like smart choices are actually loaded with saturated fat and sodium. But, Dhaka is fast catching up on the healthy trend. El Dorado Revised, as the name suggests, is a place that provides excellent delicious and nutritious foods consisting of dedication, unique flavours and quality. So you don’t really have to say goodbye to gluttony because clean eating just got a whole lot tastier.

Located at Bashundhara, this place is tastefully decorated. After entering, this gorgeously whimsical restaurant put me in a good mood with is unique decor, seating arrangement and yellow lights. The relaxing cozy ambiance gives that unusual aura to the place. It serves amazing appetizers to delectable drinks that are mainly inclined towards Continental and Mexican cuisines.

The owner, Dr Azizur Rahman Rubel said, ”El Dorado Revised has believed in appealing and flavoursome food and we aim to offer our guests a taste of healthy cuisine at its finest. We are passionate about serving quality food crafted from fresh regional ingredients, many of which are organic, and we use only the purest of virgin olive oil. Inspired by authentic flavour combinations, our menu offers a relaxed but sophisticated dining option.”

El Dorado dish up whole and protein-rich food, such as steak or fish, baked potatoes along with a side of herb rice and veggies. Among appetizers Chat Potato (BDT 99), Nachos (BDT 180/250), Wrap (BDT 249/199), Alfredo Pasta (BDT 270), Calamari Rings (BDT 250) and Dori Fish and Shrimp Mix Burger (BDT 360) are mention worthy.

Well from mains had some of their signature dishes. The luscious Lemon Butter Fish (BDT 420) left me surprised with its tangy taste. Served with fresh herb rice, the best thing about this mouth-watering dish is the rich and zesty sauce that elevates its taste and makes you crave for more. Crusted Sirloin Beef Steak (BDT 780) was delicious. A blend of mild spices and mushroom sauce creates a smoky, crunchy coating on grilled beef sirloin, served on a bed of herb rice and veggies are spellbound.

Simple but tasty and with lots of flavoursome sauce, Valencia Chicken (BDT 359) was worth having. The bright orange sauce along with chat potato and sautéed vegetable is low in calorie. This low fat elegant chicken is a must have. Cilantro Chicken (BDT 359) had tons of incredible flavour. The zesty cilantro-lime marinade was amazing. And the chicken comes out perfectly juicy and tender.

The whole Grilled Red Snapper (BDT 780) was a bang on. The mild flavour of snapper fish fillet was moist, tender and flavourful. Highly recommended for seafood enthusiasts.
