The triennial 2025 election of the Dinajpur Journalists' Union (2936) saw all five positions filled without contest on Monday.
Sadaqat Ali Khan was elected President, and Mahfizul Islam Ripon General Secretary.
According to the Election Commission, six individuals purchased nomination papers by 31 July. By 2 August, five valid nominations were submitted to Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Omar Faruk.
After scrutiny on 3 August, the commission announced the valid candidates: Sadaqat Ali Khan (Daily Naya Diganta) as President, Faruk Hossain (NTV) as Vice President, Mahfizul Islam Ripon and Mahabubul Haque Khan (both from Daily Amar Desh) as General and Joint Secretaries respectively, and M A Salam (Daily Bangladesh-er Khobor) as Treasurer.
As no withdrawals were made by Monday deadline, all were declared elected unopposed.
