A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Dinajpur Journalists Union (Reg. No. RAJ-2936) was held recently on Thursday. The meeting took important decisions regarding the organization's progress, professional facilities for members, and future course of action.
The meeting was presided over by the Union President, Mohammad Sadakat Ali Khan. The General Secretary, Mahfizul Islam Ripon, conducted the meeting. Among those present were: Vice-President: Md. Faruq Hossain, Finance Secretary: Abdus Salam, along with other executive committee members.
In this executive committee meeting, emphasis was placed on making the welfare activities of the Union more dynamic. At the same time, discussions were held on various proposals aimed at ensuring the professional development and safety of journalists.
Meanwhile, under the organization of the Dinajpur Journalists Union -2936, a protest rally is going to be held demanding the trial of all journalist murders, including Sagar-Runi, the implementation of the 9th Wage Board and the formation of the 10th Wage Board, and the reinstatement of dismissed journalists.
The protest rally will be held on November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Dinajpur Press Club (Kalitola) spot. The organization has called upon all journalists to be present at this rally.
The executive committee members present at the meeting reaffirmed their united commitment to achieving the organization's goals. In his speech, President Mohammad Sadakhat Ali Khan called upon all members of the organization to work maintaining professional ethics and to strengthen the Union further in protecting the interests of journalists.
