Digital Bangladesh Day observed across country

The ‘Digital Bangladesh Day’ was observed across the country with the theme ‘Verify the accuracy before sharing on the Internet’, reports BSS.

On the occasion, Information and Communication Technology Department placed a wreath led by State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of the Bangabandhu Museum in the city’s Dhanmondi on Thursday morning.

After offering the wreath, they observed one minute of silence and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

Marking the day, a colorful procession was also brought out from the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban in the capital around 10am.

JS Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury addressed the pre-procession rally as the chief guest and inaugurated the event by blowing up balloons while State Minister of Information and Technology Division, was present as special guest.

Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Ziaul Alam presided over the meeting.

Along with bringing out processions, as part of the central programmes, discussions, seminars, online presentation on Digital Bangladesh, essay, painting and quiz competitions were also arranged at upazila and district levels across the country.

Bangladesh missions in abroad also observed the day in a befitting manner. Besides , important streets of the city have been decorated with festoons, banners and posters marking the day.
