With the theme " Justify the truth or false at first and then share in the internet", the Digital Bangladesh Day-2019 was observed throughout the country on Thursday.
In observance of the day the floral tribute was paid to the portrait of the Father of Nation Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the 32 Dhanmondi by the State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak and the ministry concerned at 7-00 am.
After offering floral tribute, one minute of silence was observed seeking peace and welfare of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members. All officials and employees including the Senior Secretary of the department of Information and Communication Technology Ministry NM Ziaul Alam were present at the occasion.
A colourful rally was also brought out in observance of the day. Starting from the Southern Plaza of Jatiya Sangdsad, the rally paraded streets through the Khamarbari and converged again at the same spot of the Southern Plaza. Earlier, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury formally inaugurated the rally by releasing baloons.
Presided over by NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology, a meeting held before starting the rally, was addressed, among others, by Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad as the chief guest and Junaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister of ICT as the special guest.
Various programmes including discussion meetings and rallies were observed in all districts, upazilas and the missions of Bangladesh on the occasion of the day.
