‘Digital age is the future of the country’

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said the day the future of the country is the digital age. The era of the first, second or fourth industrial revolution is over. In continuation of this, it is essential for the new generation to be educated in the appropriate education of digital age.

“Software developed by boys and girls in Bangladesh is being used successfully in almost all areas including banks and financial institutions. We are exporting software to 80 countries around the world," he said.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of Canadian International School, Bangladesh at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Thursday night.

The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that students are now passing the age of internet civilization and said that Bangladesh was declared as the first digital country in the world. We are the role models for the digital revolution in the world. We have reached the threshold of establishing a developed Bangladesh by making unimaginable progress as a result of digitization. The day ahead is for the new generation. Looking at the faces of the students, we can see the beautiful Bangladesh of tomorrow. Mentioning that the teacher community of the country has immense responsibility to develop the students as human beings with digital skills through proper education, the Minister said, "My children are my great asset." He said that many developed countries of the world have considered robots, artificial intelligence or IoT technology as their recourse to meet their human resource deficit. As a result, they are leaning towards digital mechanical civilization. But we can never allow the manpower of my country to stand in the face of challenges because of technology. We do not want to see technology as an alternative to human beings under any circumstances. This is the time for us to prepare for exporting robots or digital devices to developed countries, said the inventor of Bangla language in computer.

Shirin Akhter MP called upon the students to be visionaries and said that they have to look at the splendor of life and be indomitable in realizing their dreams. Under no circumstances can you look back. We have to move forward with indomitable interest to fulfill the dream.
