An agreement was signed between Bangladesh and Austria for making an air transport regional hub between the two countries. The airline agreement was signed in Vienna recently, notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a circular on June 8.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Austria Muhammad Abdul Muhit and Austrian European and International Affairs Ambassador Andreas Rieken signed the deal on behalf of the respective countries.
The agreement will assist in transforming goods and passenger transport into a regional hub between Bangladesh and Austria regions. As both countries expect, the deal will accelerate passenger and cargo flights processes in the near future and expand business opportunities between the two countries.
The long-term demand of the expatriate Bangladeshis has been achieved through the signing of this agreement. The expatriate Bangladeshis living in Austria have been demanding direct aircraft to Austria Bangladesh for a long time.Thus, Austria's expatriate Bangladeshis expressed gratitude to Bangladesh Embassy in Vienna and Austria Government for this initiative.
