Dhaka sees no Covid deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered three more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Friday. No deaths were reported in the capital during this period.

The total number of deaths has reached to 27,890 with the latest figure.

The country recorded 196 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,570,681, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.

The current positivity rate stands 1.12 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.04 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.78 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the three deceased, one was man and two were women. The deceased were from Chattogram, Rajshahi and Mymensingh division.

A total of 17,446 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday. 

Some 178 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,534,478 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.70 percent.

As of Friday 5,047,858 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 249,487,119 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
