State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has inaugurated an app in the name of Dhaka Reporters Unity. Using this app, the members of the organization will be able to receive various services including annual and welfare fund payments.
He inaugurated the app as the chief guest at DRU's Sagar-Runi auditorium on Wednesday.
The IT company 'Artificial Soft' has assisted DRU in creating this app. Before inaugurating the app, the state minister took part in the 'Meet the Reporters'programme organized by DRU. The inauguration ceremony of the app was presided over by DRU President MursalinNomani and moderated by the general secretary of the organization Moshiur Rahman Khan.
Former DRU presidents Jamal Uddin and Ilias Hossain, former general secretaries Raju Ahmed, Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo and Kabir Ahmed Khan, current DRU vice-president Osman Gani Babul and many others were present on the occasion.
In a brief speech at the inaugural function of the app, Zunaid Ahmed Palakadmired the overall work of DRU and said that it is an organization of active journalists. He announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art Sheikh Russel Digital Lab at DRU so that reporters could send their news to the media quickly.
Through this app, the members of the organization will be able to receive all kinds of services, including annual and welfare fund payments. They will also be able to find DRU notices, daily events and use members' telephone directories.
