The 33-km Dhaka-Mawa highway with almost 70 percent completion of construction work has already become an eye-catching sight with a blend of scenic and artistic design. After full completion of construction work, this road will contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the country. The seaborne trade will escalate in near future with increasing economic activities both home and abroad. This road will boost all possible connectivity networks across the Padma River.

Dhaka-Mawa road will be a milestone in the country’s communication sector which will facilitate and accelerate road connectivity and socio-economic development of the country.  The highway will connect with Khulna bridging through Padma Multi-Purpose Bridge. Dhaka-Mawa is a 4-lane highway while Dhaka-Khulna is 8-lane.

The Bangladesh Army is doing the construction work for the highway with deftness and expertise. The Dhaka-Mawa road will play a vital role for connecting Mongla port with Dhaka through Padma Bridge for handling the country’s export-import goods and help directly or indirectly to the economic growth reducing pressure on Chattogram sea-port.

Transport through the Mongla port would gain momentum after the Padma Bridge is constructed and commissioned. Industrialization, habitation, trade and commerce will gear-up in both sides of the road.
