Dhaka experienced the hottest day since 1965 on Saturday, making lives of over two crore city dwellers miserable.
The highest temperature recorded in the capital on Saturday was 40.4 degrees Celsius, said Md Farman Ali, meteorological assistant at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
This is the highest temperature recorded in Dhaka since 1965.
In 1965, a high of 42 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital.

The temperature is expected to rise for the next three to four days and the lack of rainfall has begun to have an impact on the biodiversity.
