India has been a close friend of Bangladesh since the war of liberation in 1971. Since then the two countries and the governments have supported and worked for the betterment of subcontinent, together in unison.

In that continuation the two countries have renewed their friendship, which reflects the all-rounding partnership of India and Bangladesh based on sovereignty and trust.

According to a report published in this daily, a summit between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi witnessed the signing of seven MoUs and agreements between the two countries.

This was the result of the long-lasting bond that exists between the two countries. There has not been any bad blood between the two countries and the active trade that exists between the nations is a testament to that.

This proves that the present government is

determined on improving the condition of

wildlife in the country

Already there are a number of rail lines that connect the two countries and one more is expected to open by 2022. Also, Hydrocarbon sector will receive a boost with the signing of these MoUs.

Also, it is expected that there will be Indian Grant Assistance for Implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects through Local Bodies and other Public Sector Institutions.

Besides, there is also Protocol on Transboundary Elephant Conservation. This proves that the present government is determined on improving the condition of wildlife in the country.

The lack of habitable area for wild elephants is evident as huge forest area has been diminished for creating the Rohingya camps. This has posed a threat to wild elephant habitat.

Other than this there is also the creation of a CEO forum in talks that will connect the high-level CEOs of the two countries and enhance bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

We hope that this cooperation and mutual understanding lasts for a long time between the two countries and that we shall prosper together.
