BSS, Dhaka

Bangladesh has strongly condemned the drone attacks targeting the Saudi Arabia’s southwestern city Abha by the Houthi rebels, a foreign ministry press release said on Sunday.

“Bangladesh calls for immediate cessation of such attacks and reiterates solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of such aggression,” said the statement.

Dhaka expressed its full support to Saudi Arabia against any threat to its security and territorial integrity and in their efforts to bring lasting peace and stability in the region.

“These unprovoked acts by the Houthi rebels undermine the peace and security in the region,” said the statement.

The first attack, launched on February 10th, hit a parked commercial aircraft causing damage while the second one, on February 17th, was intercepted and destroyed by the Joint Coalition Forces before hitting targets.
