To keep the capital Dhaka safe, the police are bringing the entire city under the closed circuit (CC) TV cameras. The police headquarters is preparing a project proposal called Development of Dhaka City Digital Monitoring System under the government's Safe City project.
In other words, this step is to introduce traffic management system in the style of developed countries. It will be sent to the Planning Commission in the form of Development Project Proposal (DPP) through the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Feasibility studies for the project began last year. DMP has taken another project to install CCTV cameras at 500 points in Dhaka South City before the Safe City project.
If properly controlled, the more cameras are installed, the safer the city will be. Through the Safe City project, a plan has been taken to cover the entire 6,000 km of small and big roads in Dhaka with a few thousand CCTV cameras.
The camera system will work to control militant and terrorist attacks, theft, robberies, robberies and murders, as well as to detect vehicle movement errors.
