In a reshuffle of diplomatic postings, the government has decided to appoint M. Allama Siddiki, currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Denmark, as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Australia.
A.K.M. Shahidul Karim, currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Bhutan, has been posted as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Denmark while Mohammad Sufiur Rahman, currently serving as the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia, will go to Geneva as the next Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UN Offices and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Switzerland.
Siddiki is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 10th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
In his career, Siddiki has served extensively in various capacities both at the Headquarters as well as in Bangladesh Missions abroad such as Tokyo, Kolkata, Islamabad and London.
Before Denmark, he served as Bangladesh Ambassador to Türkiye. He has in his bag the experience of representing Bangladesh in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings.
He obtained his Honours and Masters in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. He is married and blessed with two children.
Karim is a career foreign service officer, belonging to the 18th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
In his career, Karim has served extensively in various capacities both at the Headquarters as well as in Bangladesh Missions abroad such as Stockholm, Cairo and London.
He was the Bangladesh Consul General in Jeddah. Just before leaving for his maiden Ambassadorial assignment in Bhutan, Karim was serving as the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).
He also participated in the executive programme at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore as well as completed the Japanese Language Course at Kansai Kokusai Center in Osaka, Japan.
Rahman is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 9th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre.
In his diplomatic career, he has served extensively in various capacities both at the Headquarters as well as in Bangladesh Missions abroad such as New Delhi, Geneva and Islamabad. He also served as Director at SAARC Secretariat in Kathmandu.
Before Australia, Rahman served as Bangladesh High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar. He has in his bag the experience of representing Bangladesh in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings.
He did his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). He also completed MBA from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.
