In order to prevent corona epidemic, special rules have been imposed banning people from offering prayers in mosques, but most mosques are not following this rule in Thakurgaon. Crowd of people are still noticed at the mosques of the district.

In order to ensure social distance, Ministry of Religious Affaires of the government has imposed rules on every mosque in the country not to allow a gathering of more than 5 people in regular prayers and not more than 10 people in Jumma prayers.

However in most of the mosques of Thakurgaon this rule was not followed. In some of the mosques more than 20-25 Muslims were seen praying during the Zuhr prayer on Tuesday noon.

The people who regularly pray at the mosque said that the number of Muslims in the mosque has increased due to the corona virus spread. Many of them are rushing to the mosque for fear of the virus.

In this regard, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun said that social distance should be maintained in all cases to prevent the outbreak of corona virus. If anyone disobeys this order, action will be taken against them according to the rules.
