Development fair begins

A two-day long Development Fair began in different districts of the country marking Bangladesh graduation into Developing Nation from Least Developed Countries.

On the occasion, a procession organized by district administration was brought out in Narail Shilpakala Academy premises on Sunday morning and paraded different roads in the town, reports BSS.

Member of Awami League Advisory Council and former minister Amir Hossain Amu MP inaugurated the Development Fair at Jhalokati by joining a video conference at around 10 am.

The fair is being held at Sheikh Russel Mini Stadium in the town. As many as 40 stalls have been set up at the stadium. Debate competition, magic, folk songs, discussion, documentary on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s life, seminar and quiz are the highlights of the fair.

In Bagerhat, the Development Fair began at Zila Parishad auditorium. Deputy Commissioner ANM Foyzul Haque inaugurated the fair this morning releasing pigeons. Around 50 stalls were set up in the fair.

To mark the fair,a total of 20 youths were given loan in Natore . The Mela was inaugurated at Kanaikhali Purano Stadium this morning.

The fair was also organized in different districts including Nilphamari. Sherpur, Kurigram, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Habiganj and Jashore.
