No development is sustainable unless the quality of education is improved, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.
“The present government is giving utmost importance to the development of education. The Awami League government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been able to bring almost 100 percent children under the educational programme at the primary level. Now the government is working to ensure the quality of education. Curriculum changes are underway for this purpose,” she said.
The Education Minister made the remarks while inaugurating academic buildings and laying foundation stones of various educational institutions in Narayanganj on Thursday.
She further said that curriculum is being formulated on the basis of knowledge, skills and values.
“Mega projects will be taken up in the future to improve the quality of education,” she said.
While talking about Bangabandhu’s idea of education, Dipu Moni said that Bangabandhu did not want an education system that produces clerks.

The contribution of our children to the world system will depend on how much we can change our education system in line with the world’s system,” she added.
