Dettol Harpic Porichchonno BD, Scouts donate hygiene products

To safeguard the frontline responders against Corona, "Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh" has distributed disinfectants and cleaning materials to Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and the Department of Health (DG Health) through Bangladesh Scouts. 

The items were handed over to the representatives of the respective organizations through a video conference on Sunday with the theme "Shobai Mile Bhalo Thaki".

To protect the front line responders from contracting Corona, the Department of Health (DG Health) received 20,000 Dettol Soaps and 6,000 Liquid Harpic, Dhaka North City Corporation received 20,000 Dettol Soaps and 7,500 Liquid Harpic, Dhaka South City Corporation received 20,000 Dettol Soaps and 7,500 Liquid Harpic, and DMP received 15,000 Dettol soaps and 22,000 Liquid Harpic products from Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh. 

Mohammad Shah Kamal, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts (Social Development and Health) presided over the handover ceremony. 

Chief Commissioner of Anti-Corruption Commission (Investigation) and Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan was the chief guest of the occasion where; Nusrat Jahan, Marketing Director, Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh Limited attended as the special guest. 

Md. Hemayet Hossain, Regional Executive Officer, Dhaka North City Corporation; RM Faizur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), DMP; Salauddin Ahmed, Chief Coordinator of Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Jamal Sikder, Assistant Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts were also present at the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Md. Shah Kamal, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and National Commissioner (Social Development and Health) of Bangladesh Scouts said, “Bangladesh Scouts and Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh have continued with their developmental work even in this pandemic.  

Since 2016, we have been conducting various awareness activities with Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh.  All our work is aimed at ensuring the wellbeing of everyone. Let's make our country healthy and clean by raising awareness through ‘Shobai Mile Bhalo Thaki’.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, the Commissioner (Investigation) of the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts, Md.  Mozammel Haque Khan said, “We have to work for the sake of everyone’s well-being, and it should not be limited to moments of crisis.  The emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness should not be limited to this crisis. It should matter throughout the rest of our lives.” 

Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, the Director of the Department of Health (NCDC) said, “Currently, we are facing an unprecedented crisis.  But, if we remain vigilant about hygiene and cleanliness, we will be able to avoid contracting the virus. 

Besides, these hygiene products provided by Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Bangladesh Scouts will play a crucial role in safeguarding the front line responders of the country. ”

Md. Hemayet Hossain, Regional Executive Officer, Dhaka North and South City Corporation, said, “During this time of unprecedented crisis with the advent of Corona, these hygiene products provided by Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Bangladesh Scouts will save lives of our staff.  

Additionally, other organizations need to come forward in lending a helping hand like Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Bangladesh Scouts did.  Only then can we win against Corona. ”

DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) RM Faizur Rahman said, “Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Bangladesh Scouts have undertaken several awareness initiatives against Corona.  I sincerely thank the Bangladesh Police for their efforts.  In addition, the hygiene products donated to stand by us during this unprecedented pandemic will safeguard the country’s soldiers. ”

Nusrat Jahan, the Marketing Director of Reckitt Benckiser Bangladesh Limited, said, “These are really challenging times.  Awareness is what we need.  We have undertaken numerous initiatives with Bangladesh Scouts to raise that awareness.  Besides, the front line responders of the country are working relentlessly to keep us safe. Showing that we care about them, is our way of paying tribute to their noble work.  We hope that with the joint efforts of all, we will be able to get rid of this pandemic.” 

Salauddin Ahmed Tareq, Chief Coordinator of Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh and Jamal Sikder, National Deputy Commissioner (Health) and Convener of Bangladesh Scouts also spoke on the occasion.
