To control the spread of Dengue in the coming monsoon season, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps and National Scout Team have joined hands with Dhaka North City Corporation in mosquito abatement activities. Basically, they will go door to door and work on mosquito eradication activities - creating public awareness. This awareness program will be conducted in DNCC area divided into 400mx400m grid. It will be possible to build a social movement with the help of Scout and BNCC
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam said these things while inaugurating this awareness program in front of Sony Cinema Hall in Mirpur-1 of the capital on Wednesday afternoon.
Inaugurating the awareness program, DNCC Mayor participated in the rally along with scouts and members and councilors of BNCC. Two hundred members of BNCC and scout team participated in it. The rally started in front of Sony Cinema Hall and ended at Al-Nahyan High School.
DNCC Mayor visited the school grounds and spoke to teachers and students. He made the students aware of the sources of Aedes mosquitoes by showing them abandoned car tires, tin shells, clay pots, food packets, unused commodes.
At the time, he said, 'We have decided to launch a massive campaign to make the people aware and involved in preventing the outbreak of dengue. BNCC and scouts have entered the field with DNCC councilors and officials. This awareness program will be conducted in different regions divided into 400m by 400m grid. We believe that dengue control will be possible if we build social movements by increasing awareness among the people.
Atiqul Islam said, 'Earlier we had a meeting with Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and National Scout Team. We have planned that members of BNCC and National Scout Team will go to every house and sensitize common people. This will create a social movement. Tell people to throw away the accumulated water in your house. They will encourage you to throw it away immediately.'
DNCC Mayor said, 'Now it is raining and the sun is rising again. We have started our campaign for this sunny rain. Other times we campaign differently. Today we started with the aim of creating social awareness. Dengue control is not possible if people are not involved.
Atiqul Islam said, today is a big day for the Bengali nation, a big day for Bangladesh, a big day for 17 crore people. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's homecoming day today. Dhaka North City Corporation, Bangladesh Scout, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps and our councilors have started our awareness activities today on the occasion of this Return Day.
