Dengue cases are increasing in Chattogram

The outbreak of dengue has taken a terrible shape in Chattogram.  The number of infected is increasing every day.  104 new cases of dengue have been reported in the last 24 hours.  As a result, the number of infected people in this month stood at 1 thousand 202 people.  But the news of relief was that no death was reported.

This information has been confirmed in the report published by Chattogram Civil Surgeon office on Sunday afternoon.

According to the published report, 2 thousand 17 people were infected with dengue from January to October this year.  Among them, 987 are male and 527 are female and 503 are child patients.  Among those affected, 1 thousand 489 are metropolitan and 537 are patients from different upazilas.  Besides, 13 people died during the same period.  Among them are 2 men, 7 women and 4 children.

On the other hand, the maximum number of patients in the upazila is 138 in Sitakunda, 86 in Karnaphuli, 54 in Satkania, 57 in Patiya, 41 in Hathazari, 24 in Loha­gara, 23 in Boalkhali, 15 in Mirsharai, 23 in Banshkhali, 14 in Rangunia, 13 in Anwara, 15 in Raojan, 15 in Chandnaish, 13 in Fatikchhari, 6 in Sandwip.

Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr. Elias Chowdhury said, due to the increase in dengue outbreak, various organizations including the City Corporation have been urged to strengthen cleanliness.  If everyone is a little more aware of their position, the outbreak will decrease.
