Deepta TV is set to premiere a new mega serial, "Dena Pawna," bringing to life a short story by the Rabindranath Tagore. Directed by Golam Muktadir, this series stays true to Tagore’s rich storytelling tradition, focusing on love, family, and societal challenges. The screenplay is crafted by Ahmed Khan Hirok and Afifa Mohsina Oroni, with dialogues by Alvi Sarkar.
The plot centers on Irfan, a highly educated young man, and Parmita, an elegant and intelligent young woman. Their dream of marriage and a happy life together is hindered by the socio-economic divide between their families. The series delves into whether Irfan can overcome these obstacles and give Parmita the status she deserves. It explores themes of family, love, self-respect, and the recurring issue of dowry in modern times, echoing Tagore's deep understanding of social dynamics.
Featuring popular actors such as Tanveen Sweety, Monir Khan Shimul, Nazneen Hasan Chumki, Shahadat Hossain, and Monir Ahmed Shakil, the cast also includes talented young performers like Tanushree Karkoon (Parmita), Tanoy Biswas (Irfan), Kazi Kaniz (Riya), Shaon Das, Priyant Barua, Tisha Chowdhury, Priyanta Barua, Mehedi Hasan, Nafiyat Promi, and Sajjad Hossain.
Director Golam Muktadir emphasized the commitment to quality storytelling, a hallmark of Deepta TV, and expressed hope that "Dena Paona" will resonate with viewers.
"Dena Pawna" will air daily at 7 pm and 10 pm starting Saturday, May 18. Viewers can also catch the series on Deepta TV’s YouTube channel and OTT platform, Deepta Play.
