Locals brought out a procession to protest against the Pricipal of Dasgram Madrasa in Baraigram of Natore on Monday afternoon.
They protested against embezzlement of the land of the Madrasa as well as corruption and recruitment trade worth crores committed by the Principal.
Thousands of locals marched in front of the Madrasa in Dasgram Bazar under Chandai Union of the upazila demanding a proper investigation into the incident.
Chandai Union Awami League Organizing Secretary AH Malek Mollah, Member Mahbub Rahman Bakul, UP Member Selim Reza, Union Chhatra League Organizing Secretary Ekramul Alam were present among others.
At that time, speaker Alhaj Hazrat Ali said the principal of the madrasa, has been running the madrasa for two and a half years without forming any committee committing various irregularities and corruption.
He also demanded legal action after proper investigation into various irregularities including lease money of about 100 Bighas of land of the madrasa, rent of the madrasa market, recruitment trade and taking bribes at different times.
It may be mentioned that locals had earlier issued a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officer in this regard.
