Due to extreme heat and frequent load shedding, public life has become unbearable. To get some relief from the heat, now the value of hand fan has increased. Such information was obtained by talking to the hand fan traders in Titas upazila of Comilla.
Various types of hand fans can be found in different markets of the upazila. In addition, fan vendors are roaming the streets to deliver hand fans to people.
These include - palm leaf fans, woven yarn fans, fans made of various fabrics, fans made of plastic.
Talking to the traders, it is known that the hand fans made of bamboo, cane and cloth are sold from 30 to 100 taka. Among the hand fans, the fabric ones are slightly cheaper. Others are more expensive due to the use of bamboo and cane. A had fan seller at Batakandi market named Suruj Mia said that earlier, hand fans were not sold that much.
However, the sale of hand fans has increased several times due to the increase in additional load shedding with the increase in temperature.Raihan Ahmed Nishant was buying hand fan from Suruj Mia. Nishant said he is buying a hand fan for 70 Tk. Now a days, load shedding has increased at an alarming rate. o there is no alternative to hand fan at this point.
