Delta Life honors women agents

Delta Life Insurance honored its women agents at the ‘Women Agent Summit-2019’, held at Delta Life Tower in the capital on Tuesday, for their outstanding contribution to promoting micro insurance among the low-income people across the country. 

Chairman of Delta Life Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Nuruddin Khan, psc, chaired the program while Human Rights Activist and Former Adviser in the caretaker government Sultana Kamal graced the event as the chief guest. Gokul Chand Das, Member of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) attended as the special guests. Board of Directors and higher officials of Delta Life were also present during the event.

Adeeba Rahman ACII (UK), Chief Executive Officer of Delta Life gave welcome speech. She said, “Women agents have been contributing 65-70 percent of the total premium earned from the micro insurance program of Delta Life. Women agents have also pioneered in earning single premium endowment. Delta Life has been able to take lead in realizing the mission and vision of National Insurance Policy.”

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Sultana Kamal says, "Women constitute half of the labor force in the agriculture sector, yet only men are established as farmers. Even we are reluctant to mention the sacrifice of women in our liberation war." Mentioning the way that Delta Life Insurance is changing the trend by recognizing the contribution of women agents in the insurance sector, she added, "The contribution of women in the advancement of the society is commendable. Women these days, are leading from the front in every sector". She expresses her hope that the empowerment of women will ensure gender equality in every front of society.

Starting from 2017, Delta Life has been organizing the annual “Women Agent Summit” regularly to recognize the achievements of women agents in micro insurance. Successful women agents across the country have attended the summit.

To celebrate the achievement of the women agents, Delta Life has organized “Women Agent Summit’ to honor the women agents for their contribution in promoting micro insurance.
