Ildir is a village which is located on the sea side. Seagulls screech across the unending horizon. A humming sound is heard from a girl of the village named Fatmagul.
‘Gul’ means rose. Although her parents had named her with the name of flower there was no touch of tenderness in her life. Her day passes by listening to the bickering of her polite and straight older brother Rahim and his wife Mukaddes.
Her only escape is her childhood love Mustafa and their dream of having a good life in future together. But suddenly chaos ensues and ruins her dreams. A spoiled man from the Yasharan family named Selim, Ardowan and their friends do wrong to Fatmagul and she thus has to lose her so called honour of a woman of the then society.
No one helped her in this time of need. Even her childhood love Mustafa too pushes her away, wiping away her last hope of having a good life. She is left with no other choice than to go to the city leaving the village. What was her fault? Was it all because she has been born as a woman? Or is Fatmagul going to prove everyone wrong by bringing the wrong to justice?
And thus the story of the Turkish television series titled ‘Fatmagul’ continues. After it had received much appraisal in the west it has now come to Bangladesh. ‘Fatmagul’ is going to start from June 2 and is going to be shown on all seven days of the week at 9:30pm on Deepto TV.
