Police recovered the decomposed body of a man from a fish enclosure at Pashchim Baniakhali village under Sarankhola in Bagerhat on Wednesday.

A day labourer, Siddique Haolader, 42, resident of the same area, went missing 10 days ago. His family members claimed that the deceased is Siddique Haolader.

Police sources said a decomposed body of a person was found on Wednesday afternoon at a fish enclosure of Khontakata Union Parishad Chairman Jakir Hossain Khan Mohiuddin. Khontakata Union Parishad Chairman Jakir Hossain Khan Mohiuddin talked over the phone. He said he was in Gopalganj. Someone might have killed that person and left at his enclosure with an ill motive. He demanded fair investigation in this matter.

Sarankhola Police Station Officer-in-Charge AHM Kamruzzaman said the real identity of the body could not be known as it was decomposed. The body was sent to Bagerhat morgue for autopsy.  He also said a day labourer, Siddique Haolader, went missing on September 30. A general diary was filed with the police station on October 5. Siddique’s family claimed that it was Siddique’s body. However, the real identity can’t be known without a DNA test.
