The number of deaths due to Coronavirus in the country has dropped to 78 in the last 24 hours, according to the official data on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, it was 97. The total death toll rose to 11,228 till now.
Besides, 3,031 people have been newly identified as having coronavirus in last 24 hours which makes it the total number of infected in the country to 7,51,659. This information has been given in the regular press release on Coronavirus sent from the Health Department on Tuesday.
It has also been informed that a total of 5,234 people have recovered from the infection in 24 hours. So far, a total of 6,66,927 have recovered.
According to the Department of Health, samples were collected from 24,509 people in the last 24 hours, and 24,237 were tested. Compared to the sample test in the last 24 hours, the detection rate is 12.51 percent.
Of the 5,234 people who have recovered in the last 24 hours, 2,724 are from Dhaka division, 679 from Chittagong, 270 from Rangpur, 521 from Khulna, 339 from Barisal, 324 from Rajshahi, 263 from Sylhet and 114 from Mymensingh.
