A three-day annual conference of the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) begins Sunday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the conference at Prime Minister's Office in the capital.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister will learn various field-level administrative and pro-people issues from the deputy commissioners and give them necessary directives.
It will be the first meeting of DCs with the head of the government after the Awami League led by Sheikh Hasina has formed the government for the fourth consecutive term.
The government has already directed the authorities concerned to break syndicate so that dishonest traders cannot hoard essential commodities or rise prices at their will.
Sources at the Cabinet Division said that they received over 300 proposals from the Divisional Commissioners and DCs on 52 ministries and divisions.
Curbing the prices of commodities will get top priority in the meeting, they said.
Ministers, advisors, state ministers and secretaries of 52 ministries will take part in the conference while Cabinet Secretary will preside over the sessions.
The DCs will also sit with the premier in an open discussion after the inaugural session.
Sources at the Cabinet Division said that the DCs would portray their field-level problems and seek directives from the premier in resolving those problems.
Sources in the PMO said the DCs would apprise the premier of the field-level problems in implementing the development activities of the government and will seek her intervention to resolve the problems.
The conference is held every year to discuss the ways of the execution of different policies, guidelines, priorities of the government as well as the proposal of field-level officials for smooth and effective functioning of the government and maintaining law and order.
The DCs will also be called on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban.
They will also be called on the Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan.
The DCs usually implement the policies and projects of the government at the field level.
During separate meetings, the ministers will also learn the problems and challenges of the DCs and provide necessary directives to resolve the problems.
