DB nabs three with arms, ammo in Jashore

Detective Branch of Police (DB), arrested three alleged arms peddlers with three nine MM pistols, two one shooter guns, five round of ammunitions, eight  magazines and various weaponry tools from New Bismillah Engineering Workshop in the district town Friday night. 

DB police sources said the arrested persons were identified as Abdul Quddus (42),owner of New Bismillah Engineering Workshop, son of Ahmad Ali of Bahadurpur village, shop employees Sumon Hossain (24), son of Farooq Hossain of the same village under Sadar Upazila and Abdul Aziz (43), son of Elahi Bux of Bejpara area in the town.  

 District DB Police Inspector (OC) Rupan Kumar Sarkar said, on a tip-off, DB Police conducted a drive in New Bismillah Engineering Workshop around 9.00 pm and arrested three persons and recovered three nine MM pistols,two one shooter guns,five round of ammunitions, eight magazines and various weaponry tools after searching the workshop vigorously.

 The DB team detained the persons for their long-term involvement in firearms trading, manufacturing and trafficking.

 A case was filed with Jashore Kotwali Model Thana in this connection and the arrested persons along with the seized firearms, ammunitions, magazines and various weaponry tools were handed over to the Thana police.
