The Detective Branch (DB) of police quizzed celebrated filmmaker and television director Chayanika Chowdhury after her arrest from Panthapath Signal area in the city on Friday evening.
“Producer Chayanika Chowdhury was arrested from Panthapath area on Friday at 7:30 pm.
Now she is being interrogated at Minto Road’s DB office for her reported link with detained film actress Porimoni,” Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Md Faruk Hossain told BSS.
Porimoni was the heroine of the movie 'Biswasundari' produced by Chayanika Chowdhury. Porimoni recently signed for the producer's web film ‘Antorale’. She used to call Chayanika Chowdhury as her ‘Mom (mother)’.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, anti-crime elite force rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and DMP in a joint drive arrested Porimoni with huge illegal drugs from her Banani’s rented residence and subsequently two more people were arrested at this time. —BSS
