A day-long International Conference on ‘Fine Art’ was held at Faculty of Fine Art of Dhaka University on Monday (November 5). Department of Graphic Design of the university organised this event.
New Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal inaugurated the conference as the chief guest.
Chairperson of Department of Graphic Design Dr. Vadreshu Rita presided over the inaugural session, while Rector of the University of Technology Mara in Malaysia Professor Dr. Nur Hisham Ibrahim and Deputy Rector of Indonesian Cultural Art Institute of Bandung in Indonesia Professor Dr. Supriatna, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited Rupali Chowdhury and Dean of Faculty of Fine Art of DU Professor Nisar Hossain addressed the event as special guests.
In his speech, DU VC Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal called upon the artists to present the history, culture, heritage and secular values to national and international arena through fine art.
He stressed the need for establishing peace and harmony among the people by using innovative activities of artists.
