Indian model and actress Darshana Banik who keeps flying between cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad to shoot for films in B-town and also down south has bagged yet another Hindi film. The actress will be seen in a comic family drama titled ‘Boondi Raita’.

"When I heard the story of the film, I found it interesting. I play Bobby, a bubbly and middle-class Punjabi girl. I am Bengali, so it's going to be an interesting experience to play a Punjabi character for the very first time in my career," shared Darshana who will soon be seen in another Bollywood film ‘Ezra’, co-starring Emraan Hashmi.

Darshana gave an idea of how she prepared for the role. "I had to work on the body language and diction. It's a slice-of-life film and I think it is not easy to pull off comedy scenes as other scenes," she said.

In the film, Himansh Kohli will be seen as Baggu, a 25-year-old with no ambition in life. The story is about Baggu's struggle to become a hero from zero. Shilpa Shinde plays Baggu's elder sister in the comedy flick.

‘Boondi Raita’ is being directed by Kamal Chandra, and also features Sonnalli Seygall, Ravi Kishan, Rajesh Sharma, Alka Amin, Ishlin Prasad, Neeraj Sood, Naresh Vohra, Vishisht Chamoli and Kunal Kuldeep in pivotal roles.

Darshana also has a string of Bengali releases including ‘Shororipu 2’, ‘Pratighat’, ‘Mrigaya’ and ‘Operation Sundarban’. The actress has also shot for a Telugu film, ‘Black’, starring Aadi Saikumar and a Tamil film, ‘Yarrukum Anjael’.    —Times Of India
