“We played for the country with our lives at stake even when our country no longer had a map, jersey or flag."

'Damal' is an ultimate emotional movie in the mix of sport and patriotism. Damal is a playful movie about the memory of the independent Bengali football team to inspire girls in sports. Damal is an exciting movie that wipes away the tears of the mother-father-brother-sister or cherishes Bangladesh in the heart. The movie that portrays the days of 1971 with passion and patriotism is also valuable. Damal is an inspiring movie to remind the country's birth debt for those who are in the committee or become big stars in football or cricket of that time. Damal is a movie of intense excitement of sports and love.

Liberation war is not directly mentioned in this movie. It was not mentioned about the independent Bengali football team. But everything revolves around the game and love of two football crazy young men. There is a scene of the March 25 crackdown. There is Durjoy, the lover of the striker, who is saddened by his father's non-return. There is a lot of heavy sadness in the little dialogue. When the lover wants to know from Durjoy - 'Have you found your father? Dad was wearing red gloves. Gaye..' Durjoy can't answer.

The lover of traditional religion left Kolkata with her family early in the morning. Durjoy went to Agartala on March 25th to join the liberation war, forgetting football with the wounds of the night and the memory of losing his lover. Another war of his life began.

Munna is another crazy footballer. He is also a passionate lover. He hits a great back volley, hitting a leg as the football hits a coconut tree. On the day of the wedding, saying Alhamdulillah, he rushed to a football selection game. The situation of the country pushed Munna to think differently. He also had to get involved in the war for the sake of life. But destiny brings them together again. Independent Bengal Football Team was formed. Munna leads that team. One day they met Durjoy, a striker who was in another operation of the liberation war.

The game freezes. But the goal machine could not score Durjoy. At a point of failure, his tears emerge in the dialogue - "I can't get past the sight and the row of corpses I've seen!" However, Durjoy and Munna scored with the cinematic treatment and the continuity of the story.
