Bangladesh registered nine more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,033 with the latest figure.
A total of 864 people have been newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,942,680, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
The current positivity rate has dropped to 4.01 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.52 percent.
Earlier on Saturday, eight people died due to the virus and 759 people contracted the virus.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the deceased, five were from Dhaka, three from Rajshahi and one was from Khulna division.
A total of 21,543 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday.
Some 6,264 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,806,689 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 90 percent.
As of Sunday, 5,964,955 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 435,161,776 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
