In the last 24 hours till 8:00am Wednesday, the number of coronavirus cases in the country stands at 1135. Considering the test, the patient identification rate is 13.30 percent.
The coronavirus detection rate in one day is the highest in more than four months. Earlier on February 15, the Department of Health reported a higher rate of patient identification. On that day this rate was 13.77 percent.
The country recorded more than five percent positivity rate of the deadly virus for seventh straight days after nearly three and a half months.
As per the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) notification on Wednesday, in the last 24 hours, 8536 samples were tested and 1135 new affected patients were found. Among the identified, 1069 people are from Dhaka district.
The total number of victims in the country stands at 1958209 people.
According to the Department of Health, one of the corona affected patient has died in the last 24 hours. The official death toll from the pandemic stood at 29,134.
In the last 24 hours, 122 people have recovered from Covid-19. So far 1906105 people have recovered during this time.
