Daily Covid deaths set new record

Bangladesh registered 212 Covid-19 deaths in a day till Friday morning. This is the highest number of deaths in a single day in the country. So far, a total of 16,004 people have died due to the virus.

A total of 11,324 people have been newly infected with the virus in that time. With this, the total number of identities increased to 10 lakh 543 people.

Earlier on Thursday, 11,651 people were infected, which was the highest in one day. The second highest number of 11,525 people were identified on Tuesday.

This information has been given in the regular press release on Corona sent from the Department of Health on Friday.

According to the notification, samples were collected from 39,209 people in 24 hours till Firday morning; 36 thousand 586 have been tested.

The detection rate is 30.95 percent compared to the sample test. A total of 69 lakh 3 thousand 268 samples have been tested in the country so far. Compared to the total test, the detection rate is 14.49 percent.

In 24 hours, 6,036 people recovered from Corona. So far, a total of 6 lakh 82 people and 364 people have recovered.

Of the 212 fatalities, 79 were from Khulna division, 53 people died in Dhaka, 26 in Chattogram, 23 in Rajshahi, 5 in Barisal, 6 in Sylhet, 12 in Rangpur and 8 in Mymensingh.

The dead included 119 men and 93 women, 16 of whom died at home. The rest died at the hospitals. So far, 11,254 males and 4,750 females have died out of the total 16,004 people who have died from the virus.

The age-based analysis found that 90 of those who died in the last 24 hours were over 60 years old. Fifty-seven people aged 51 to 60, 40 people aged 41 to 50, 17 people aged 31 to 40, 7 people aged 21 to 30 and 2 people aged 11 to 20.
