Dacoit held with drugs, arms in Ctg

Bangladesh Coast Guard detained a group of dacoit from Parkyr Chor area under Karnaphuli Police Station in Chattogram on Wednesday, recovering 200 pieces of yaba pills and locally made arms from their possession, says a press release. According to the release, acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard members conducted a drive at Parkyr Chor area under Karnaphuli thana and detained the dacoits.

The detainees are identified as Md Arif Madhu, 28, son of Md Rafique, Md Sazzad Hossain Manik, 29, son of Nur Islam, Md Arman, 28, Nur Alom, Md Zahid, 27, son of Jane Alom. The detainees are held with one piece local gun, 2 rounds bullet, 200 pieces of yaba pills, one toy pistol, one knife, two mobile phone, one moneybag, Tk423 cash and a small wood trawler.

However, Department of Marine Fisheries helped to detain these dacoits. A case has been filed with Karnaphuli Police Station against the detainee and handed them over to the police station.
