Cyprus has welcomed the ruling on Rohingya genocide by the international court of Justice, said a foreign ministry press release issued on Thursday.
Foreign minister of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides in a letter written to his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr AK Momen, said that his country has always condemned violation of human rights and basic freedom.
“Since the very beginning of the Rohingya crisis, Cyprus is observing the increasing concern of international community. We believe that international community should come forward to ensure safety welfare of the Rohingya community,” Christodoulides said in the letter.
He said Cyprus in its domestic and foreign policy, always supports human rights, justice and international law.
