The threat from a cyclone, ‘Yash’, in the Bay of Bengal has become even greater for the country, especially for the Khulna region.
There could be a light pressure in the area near the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal by Saturday. Cyclone Yash could hit coastal areas between the nights of May 25 and May 26.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, in its latest warning on Saturday, directed all deep-sea fishing boats and trawlers to return to shore by May 23rd.
Meanwhile, the government is preparing to prevent the damage that might be caused by cyclone 'Yash', State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman said at an emergency meeting on Saturday afternoon. Overall precautionary measures and preparations have been taken to face cyclone Yash.
In this context, meteorologist Shahinul Islam said that there could be a light pressure around the 22nd. And if it changes shape and becomes a whirlwind, it will be called 'Yash'.
Cyclone 'Yash' may extend from Khulna to Chattogram coast of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, in this situation, a mild to moderate heat wave is flowing in different parts of the country. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning that a light pressure is expected in the North Andaman Sea and the adjoining East-Central Bay of Bengal. It could turn into a cyclone and move northwest and reach the Khulna coast of Orissa-West Bengal and Bangladesh by May 26.
Usually any cyclone brings a lot of rainfall. As a result, the heat flux may decrease a bit. Typically, cyclones can form when the sea water temperature exceeds 26 degrees Celsius. That is why light-pressure and cyclones are related to the existing heat flux, experts said.
According to the forecast, low pressure is expected in the Bay of Bengal between Saturday night and Sunday morning. As a result, the wind will blow at a speed of 45 to 65 kmph in the coastal areas of Khulna, Bagerhat and Orissa and West Bengal in India. On May 26, it could take the form of a cyclone. Oman meteorologists have named the cyclone Yash.
