Cyclist dies in Chuadanga road accident

A cyclist named Shamsul Islam (48) died after being hit by a bus in Chuadanga. The accident happened at Alukdia market on Chuadanga-Meherpur road around 10 am on Saturday. The deceased Shamsul Islam is the son of deceased Miskar Mallik of Pirpur village of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila.

Abdul Jabbar, a member of Alukdia Union Parishad, said that Shamsul was going to Chuadanga Barabazar bean market on Saturday morning to sell bean by bicycle. When he took the Chuadanga highway from Pirpur village road, he was hit by a Chuadanga-bound deluxe transport. At that time, he fell on the road and was seriously injured. Locals quickly rescued him and took him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Dr. Wahid Mahmud Rabin of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital's emergency department doctor and acting resident medical officer (RMO) said that he was declared dead after examined. He died before being taken to the hospital.

Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sekender Ali said that as there is no complaint from the family of the deceased Shamsul Islam, the body will be handed over to the family without an autopsy after the final report.
