An allegation has been found against Al Imam Sikdar, resident of Ramsiddhi village for cutting land in violation of Section 144 in Mirapara Mauza under Sadar upazila of Narail.
Sources said, Golam Nabi Sheikh alias Nabir Hossain Sheikh of Mirapara village has been the owner of 3 acres and 47 decimal land by purchasing from Kanilal Ghos of Mirapara Mauza of Narail Sadar Upazila.
His wife Parul Sultana has been the owner of 1 acres and 20 decimal land in the same Mauza.The rest of the land has been purchased and is being occupied by the close relatives of Golam Nabi Sheikh alias Nabir Hussain Sheikh. Gholam Nabi Sheikh alias Nabir Hossain said that influential Al Imam Sikdar of Ramsiddhi village is trying to forcefully occupy the 60 decimal land (which is 580 feet long and 45 feet wide) by illegally creating documents.
I filed a case with the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) court on April 18 this year to seek redressal of the matter. The court issued section 144 on the land. In violation of section 144, the opponent Al Imam Sikdar cut the soil of the land to create a tank.
Besides, he (Gholam Nabi Sheikh alias Nabi) has filed a case in the Narail Sadar Senior Assistant Judge's Court seeking a remedy for the ban on the land. In his order on May 16, the judge asked Al Imam Sikdar, the defendant No. 1 in this case, to show cause within the next three days.
According to the details of the case, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) ordered the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station to take appropriate measures to prevent any kind of riot, commotion and breach of peace with respect to the land after the issuance of section 144.
After the court's order, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Sadar Police Station Ahsan Habib ordered both parties to maintain peace till the next court date on June 15 through a notice and he said that legal action will be taken against the violator of peace and order.
Al-Imam Sikdar said in this regard, “I have not encroached other people's land.”
When asked whether he violated the court's order, he avoided the issue.
