Visitors crowded at the capital’s Army Stadium. Thousands of folk music enthusiasts entered the stadium following rules and regulations in a tide of overwhelming crowd. Everybody enjoyed the occasion. The audience became very absorbed in the music. It is as if like being called for a new and original type of festivity. The atmosphere is so wonderful. The songs of earth don’t only give gentleness to the people but also a sense of the soil has brought comfort and happiness.
Last Saturday, the 16th of November, the Dhaka International Folk Fest came to an end. This is one of the best programmes in Asia, organized by the Sun Foundation.
The last day of the festival began at 6pm. The music of Kajol Dewan, Chandana Majumder and Junoon from Pakistan created an enigmatic environment which engrossed the audience. It is like a new atmosphere has been created amongst the people who search for their roots in music. Maasranga TV aired the programme live on the occasion.
