UNB, Cumilla: A 48-year-old fish trader sustained bullet injuries in a robbery attempt at the Gouripur Fisheries Project in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla early Tuesday.
The injured, Amir Hossain, is the son of Abdul Awal of the upazila.
Quoting the victim’s brother Badsha Mia, inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp, said a group of 10–12 armed robbers attacked the fisheries project near Amirabad Bus Stand in the dead of night and opened fire on Amir, leaving him injured.
He was first taken to a local hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
