Play-back legend Andrew Kishore is suffering from cancer. He is currently undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital. He needs a large sum of money for treatment. His family is struggling to provide such a big amount. In response to this, the Ministry of Culture came forward with a donation of Tk 3 lakh to him.

The Ministry of Culture has given the donation to Andrew Kishore through Chairman of the Humanitarian Welfare Foundation and theater director GM Soikot. GM Soikot said, ‘I have given the letter of donation of Tk 3 lakh to the disciple of Andrew Kishore Momin Biswas. If the letter is submitted to Rajshahi DC, the money will be paid to Andrew Kishore’s sister.’

He left for Singapore on September 9 for treatment. He was diagnosed with cancer on September 18 after various tests were conducted. He has been given chemo in rounds since then. He is still undergoing treatment. Doctors say the treatment will continue for about two more months. In the meantime, Andrew has spent more than two crores on his treatment. He needs more money to continue treatment.

It is reported that the singer started his treatment with his own savings. Without asking for help from anyone, he sold his small flat in Rajshahi. Now the only property he has left is his Mirpur flat. Singapore Hospital said the estimated cost for his treatment is Tk 2.5 crore. Meanwhile, the family of the artist has spent more than two crores. Many have come forward to support the artist.
