Cultural similarities between Bangladesh and Nepal found: Khalid

Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid said that people of different religions, castes and cultures live in Nepal. In the same way, people of different religions, castes and ethnic groups live in our Bangladesh. There is a lot of similarity between the culture and the culture of Bangladesh and Nepal.

The State Minister said these things in the chief guest's speech at the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the 'Painting Competition' organized on the occasion of 50 years of Bangladesh-Nepal diplomatic relations at the central Shahid Minar of the capital this afternoon.

The chief guest said that India, Nepal and Bhutan are built on the same foundation. Historically, Bangladesh has close and friendly relations with these countries. Just as India and Bhutan recognized Bangladesh soon after independence, Nepal also became the seventh country to recognize Bangladesh as an independent and sovereign country on 16 January 1972. The State Minister of Culture said that today's painting competition on the occasion of 50 years of Nepal-Bangladesh diplomatic relations is a unique sign of mutual harmony, amity and love between the two countries. The state minister called upon the parents of the children participating in the competition to participate and practice their children not only in painting but also in other branches of culture.

President of Bangladesh Book Club and former Ambassador Masyud Mannan and President of Bangladesh-Nepal Friendship Society Lion Moshiur Ahmed spoke as special guests in the program presided over by Ambassador of Nepal Ghanshyam Bhandari.

Ambassador of Nepal Ghanshyam Bhandari said that diplomatic relations were officially established between the two countries on April 8, 1972. Since then, cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries have been expanding in all fields including economy, communication, trade, education, culture. Ghanshyam Bhandari said that there are similarities between Bangladesh and Nepal in terms of art, culture, language, food and lifestyle. The ambassador said that organizing this competition bears the symbol of friendly relations between Bangladesh and Nepal. He congratulated all the children participating in the competition.
