Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, the power of culture is invincible. We used that cultural power during the liberation war. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established independent Bangladesh by harnessing the power of culture and using it in the movement of people's freedom and independence. The minister urged the cultural workers to come forward to spread the cultural movement across the country to reduce the ongoing struggle to establish Bangabandhu's cherished dream of ideal Bangladesh by holding Bangabandhu's motto of democracy, socialism, nationalism and secularism.
The minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the discussion meeting titled 'Natyachakra: Dhatri Navdhara' organized on the occasion of 50 years of Natyachakra at National Theater in Dhaka last Friday night.
Natyachakra President Ataur Rahman, Mamunur Rashid, actor Nasir Uddin Yusuf Bachchu, Debprasad Debnath and Khairul Alam Sabuj spoke at the event chaired by Hamid. Falguni Hamid, vice president of the organization conducted the program.
The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications said that Dhaka University is the repository of Bangladesh's cultural movement. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the six points of 1966, the Agartala conspiracy case of 1968, the public uprising of 1969, the elections of 1970 and the great liberation war of 1971, along with the development of a cultural environment in TSC, the journey of a fair cultural environment began in this country. He urged the new generation to come forward to spread the cultural movement built by the hands of the youth across the country.
The minister highlighted the involvement of the freedom struggle in the fifty years of drama in this country and said that we have used culture as a tool in the freedom struggle. He recalled the staging of Ek Nadi Rakta, which was staged by Daksur on 22 February 1971. He informed that Shaheed Sheikh Kamal acted in that play. After the liberation war, the students of Dhaka University were not people of drama, but they formed a drama movement in the country to establish a fair cultural trend. Highlighting the role of Dhaka University in the establishment of drama cycle and cultural movement as Suryasen Hall student council's theater and entertainment secretary, the telecommunication minister said that the cultural movement is a battle of every moment to change the society. Noting that drama, especially stage drama, has an impact on people like no other media, the minister said, the spirit of the liberation war will not be sharpened if the foundation of the cultural movement is not strengthened. In 1971, Minister Mustafa Jabbar, the playwright of Ek Nadi Rakta, the first and only poem based on the Liberation War, said that Bangabandhu was a "poet of politics." Bangabandhu's language and words are all poetry. With which he enlivened the Bengalis. Cultural, social, family, political life is deteriorating everywhere today. Cultural zones should be developed to prevent degradation.
The Post and Telecommunication Minister expressed optimism that the journey of Natyachakra under the leadership of M Hamid will inspire the newcomers and encourage the young society to come forward in the new cultural movement in the country.
