CUET holds Orientation for New Students

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “Those of you who are going to start a new life today are undoubtedly lucky.  You have left behind many talented people of the country and through your own talent and hard work you have established yourself in this university.  CUET Academic Syllabus has been formulated to suit the world market.  A world class and state of the art laboratory has been set up.  Each section must have an industrial attachment.  We have to use these opportunities to dream of a beautiful future.  We have to develop ourselves as enlightened people.  We have to create the mentality of competitive learning. ”

 CUET VC said, “The present is the time of science and information technology.  Sheikh Kamal IT Business Incubator has been established at the university level in CUET to provide jobs to the youth as well as to create themselves as entrepreneurs to meet the challenges of the 4th Industrial Revolution.  Besides, many mega projects of the government are currently underway around Chittagong.  There is a huge demand for engineers.  There are opportunities to prove your qualifications and skills as an engineer.  You have to dream from today to be a proud partner of the government's Delta Plan. ”

 He was speaking as the chief guest at the Orientation Program for the first year undergraduate students of the 2020-21 academic year at the University Basketball Ground on Thursday.

 Director of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim presided over the function.  Prof. Dr. Sunil Dhar, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology spoke on 'Inspiring Speech' as a special guest on the occasion;  Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mashiul Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan spoke on 'Campus Living Rules and General Rules'.  The University Registrar (Additional Responsibilities) Professor Faruk-uz-Zaman Chowdhury, Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Director of Student Welfare also spoke on 'Student Discipline Rules (General): Hall Accommodation and Hall Discipline Rules and Extra Curricular Activities'.

 Dr. Sampad Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nahida Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities, and Mohammad Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Director (Public Relations) jointly conducted the program.  Puja Talukder of Water Resources Engineering Department and Arpan Das Talukder of Mechanical Engineering Department spoke on behalf of the new students.  At the beginning of the program, Nahida Sultana, Assistant Professor of Humanities, introduced the university and gave a brief history for the new students.
